New Jersey Jury Indicts Truck Driver In Tracy Morgan Crash
Just before Christmas last year, a New Jersey grand jury indicted the driver of the Wal-Mart truck that slammed into the limo carrying comedians Tracy Morgan and James McNair. McNair was killed and Morgan was severely injured in the accident. The driver is being charged with first-degree aggravated manslaughter, second-degree vehicular homicide, and third-degree aggravated assault.
The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) ruled that driver fatigue was the cause of the 2014 accident. The Wal-Mart corporation recently settled related lawsuits from McNair’s family, Morgan, and others injured in the accident. Read the rest »

The Fast And The Furious Star’s Father Sues Porsche
Paul William Walker III, father of late actor Paul Walker, recently announced that he is suing Porsche for his son’s death. The younger Walker, who rose to fame in the Fast and Furious film franchise, was killed in an accident two years ago while a passenger in a Porsche Carrera GT.
The wrongful death lawsuit alleges that the German automaker advertised the vehicle as “a racing car licensed for use on the road,” yet the automobile “lacked safety features that are found on well-designed racing cars or even Porsche’s least expensive road cars.” The wrongful death suit alleges a lack of electronic stability controls, poor side door reinforcement, and poor seat belt design among the factors contributed to the 40 year old actor’s death. Edmond Teen Killed In Lake Crash
A young life came to a sad end earlier this month, when a 16 year old Edmond boy died on his way to high school. The accident happened when the teen was driving across Arcadia Lake on Memorial Road. The car apparently jumped a guardrail and tumbled into the lake, killing the driver. The boy was driving alone.
The accident is still under investigation. Many factors may be responsible for this tragedy. If we rule out driver error or intoxication, a manufacturing or design flaw of the vehicle may have contributed to the accident. There’s also the possibility that the road was poorly designed or maintained. Could the tires be flawed or improperly installed? These are questions a skilled vehicle accident attorney would ask. Speeding Risks on Oklahoma Roads
Speeding poses a serious risk on U.S. roads, according to studies by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS). In 2010, 10,395 people lost their lives in speeding-related crashes. That is about one-third of all people who died in car accidents.
When drivers speed, they reduce the ability to stop suddenly and avoid collisions with other drivers, bicyclists, or pedestrians. Also, as speed increases, the crash force increases. According to the IIHS, if a crash speed increases from 40 to 60 miles per hour, the force with which the two vehicles collide increases by 125 percent. Read the rest »
