The list goes on and on. It’s clear that animals were absolutely vital to our development at various turning points throughout history.

But what about today? It’s easy to think that with the advent of modern technology, animal help has become obsolete. However, this is a misconception, albeit a common one. There are actually a wide variety of ways animals help us today and some of them are sure to surprise you… Read the rest »

By Car Accident Help on June 10, 2014 | Posted in: Truck Collision

Two people were hospitalized following an Oklahoma accident involving a collision between an SUV and a sanitation truck. According to a News 9 report, the crash occurred near the intersection of Berry Road and Nebraska Street in Norman. Officials say the sanitation truck veered toward the left before colliding with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The 41-year-old driver of the truck and the 49-year-old driver of the SUV both suffered injuries that are not considered life threatening. Investigators are still looking into the cause of the truck-car collision, but it appears possible that the truck driver suffered a medical event before veering into oncoming traffic.

All commercial drivers must be properly trained and in adequate health to prevent tractor trailer accidents from occurring. When a driver is ill or experiencing a medical condition, he or she should not be behind the wheel of a large vehicle or any type of vehicle. Trucks are larger and heavier than other vehicles on the roadway and can cause devastating injuries if the driver loses focus, falls asleep, or suffers suddenly from a medical emergency. The Danger of Car Fires

By Car Accident Help on May 20, 2014 | Posted in: Auto Accident

Oklahoma Wrongful DeathMotor vehicles have electrical wiring, flammable liquids, and explosive gases that are extremely flammable. Whether it is caused by a mechanical malfunction, chemical reaction, or human error, the results of a car fire will be the same. Occupants must get out of the car as quickly as they can and get as far away as possible from the car. Small car fires do not stay small for long and the entire vehicle may be engulfed in flames in a few moments.

According to the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), U.S. fire departments responded to approximately 152,300 automobile fires per year between 2006 and 2010. Cars fires result in 209 civilian deaths, 764 civilian injuries, and millions in direct property damage each year. By Car Accident Help on April 21, 2014 | Posted in: Pedestrian Accident

A recent survey showed that 33 states are actively promoting biking and walking and have set goals to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycle fatalities. Oklahoma is not one of those states. In fact, Oklahoma does not have any plans to promote walking and biking or to reduce the number of pedestrian and bicycling accidents statewide. According to an Alliance for Biking & Walking survey, there has been a steady increase in the number of people walking and biking to work nationwide.

The survey found that people tend to bike and walk more in cities that have advocacy programs. This is a growing trend in the United States. There were only a handful of states with biking and walking advocacy organizations in 1996, but today there are approximately 230 state and local advocacy organizations with more than 500 full-time employees.
